MiHogar was able to present a new cooktop and gas tank to a struggling family in the nearby community of San Antonio.

Senora Rosa is a widow with five children who are living in dire conditions. Her house has no electricity or running water. Until last night, the entire family was sleeping on one mattress. Some neighbors in her community were able to help with cement blocks to partially finish the walls of her house, but if it rains, everything will be soaked. She was cooking with charcoal on a make-shift stove on the floor. She receives $50 a month from a government welfare program. Senora Rosa has a son (John, 8 years old) who has worn a colostomy bag his entire life because the corrective surgery is too expensive. The family has no bathroom facilities but thanks to a generous neighbor, they can use a nearby restroom. But despite it all, it was the easy smiles of these little girls who touched our hearts as soon as we entered the house.

Manglaralto Giving's directors Josue Muñoz Rodríguez and Lidián Cedeño García are working closely with area social service groups to find comprehensive care for Senora Rosa's family. #GrupoPiedra helped us again with a discount on a gas tank and cooktop. Thank you!
