Manglaralto Giving, Inc.

Mi Hogar (My Home) provides small appliances or furniture to help improve the living conditions of struggling families in and around Manglaralto. As we make our home visits and interviews for the food bank, we see evidence of families struggling to live in extremely poor conditions. Some have nothing to cook on, using an open fire on the floor of their house. Some need chairs and tables for their kitchen. Others have no water or electric service and “borrow” from willing neighbors. Mi Hogar collects used cooktops, mattresses, appliances, or furniture to improve living conditions. At times, when the needs are extremely urgent, we will purchase items for families’ homes.  We have also begun working with leaders at the electric and water companies to tap into their spirit of giving.

We also collect new gently used clothing, shoes, baby clothes, and other household items. Once we have a good collection of items, we hold a giveaway with our BAMA food bank families.  Each family is allowed to choose several items.

Diapers for babies and adults are also quite expensive here. We would gladly pass along any donated diapers to those who need them.

If you live in the area and would like to donate, we have a storage facility and would be happy to send a truck to your home for pick-up. Mi Hogar works to provide a dignified life for vulnerable families.
