2021 Holiday Giving
I am going to fill this post with photos of our BAMA children because Christmas is shown in their eyes and faces. Some came in their finest Christmas clothes. We heard squeals and laughter galore. Some quietly opened their presents and spent some time exploring their gifts. Others wanted to wait to get home to open their toys privately. But every child expressed gratitude and joy for what they received.
I need to thank those who made this beautiful day possible. In October, Manglaralto Giving set a lofty goal of providing our 40 BAMA families with chicken, food staples, fresh food, and toys for 75+ children. We sent out requests for donations and help. We received so much more.
Thank you to Craig Harris and #HelicalDrilling in the US for sharing the story of Manglaralto Giving with your employees and providing a major portion of our Christmas funding. Thank you to #GrupoPiedra for donating 40 chickens and rice, as well as offering BAMA a great discount on our food staples every month. Thank you to our local coffee vendor, Sergio Kovalchuk for donating bags of fresh Vigor coffee. Once again this year our dear friends Soraya Aguilera Howsoney and Bill Baker made beautiful fruit cakes for each family. Claudette Shaw once again provided feminine hygiene products. Ann Luther and Ron Jackson purchased and "muled down" many toys from the US for us. Thank you #jaapman for the office and storage space. And to #OttoVera for providing our valuable team of social workers, who provides our eyes and ears in each community within Manglaralto Parroquia. To EVERY donor who has reached out to help, thank you!
To our faithful volunteers Johanna, Mery, Olga, Maia, Jovanotty, Edwin, Claudette, Ron, and Mark, BAMA could not manage every month without your gentle help and care.
And to my work partners, my dear friends, and my heroes, Josue Muñoz Rodríguez and Lidián Cedeño García... your advice, energy, dedication, pride, and love for your community and those who are struggling is incredible. These two young men give their hearts and souls to helping the people of Manglaralto Parroquia. I am proud and lucky to know them.
Manglaralto Giving hopes each of you finds love, peace, friendship, kindness, comfort, and a full belly.
